Mental Health Options for Older People with Depression
About Us
MOOD is A Voluntary Organisation covering the west of West Lothian identifying and working with older people who have or may develop depression.
Objectives
To collaborate with local community, health and social care services, to identify older people at risk of developing depression or other mental health problems.
To devise ways or organising supports which prevent the onset of mental health difficulties for people.
To develop initiatives to support carers of older people with mental health problems which makes for the most effective use of existing resources and structures.
Aims
To identify people over the age of 55 who have or at risk of developing depression or mental health problems and to devise a range of resources to support them and their carers.
Catchment Area
Communities within West Lothian however due to funding constraints groups are only held in the West of West Lothian.
Funding
MOOD is pleased to announce the successful application to Awards for All for funding of the older men’s groups. The funding is for £7,996 and will cover the period April 2012 - March 2013.
Referrals
These will be accepted from Health and Social Work professionals, Voluntary Organisations, Carers and individuals seeking help from the project.
